In general the book is comprehensive and profoundly helpful to one's practice, and to one's appreciation of the roots of Buddhist tradition as well. This translation by Bhikkhu Nanamoli is wonderful. U Pe Maung Tin (24 April – 22 March ) was a scholar of Pali and Buddhism and educator in Myanmar, formerly Burma. Born to an Anglican family at Pauktaw, Insein Township, Rangoon, he was the fifth child of U Pe and Daw Myaing.
His grandfather was the first Burmese pastor of Henzada. Pe Maung Tin (Burmese: ဖေမောင်တင် [pʰè màʊɰ̃ tɪ̀ɰ̃]; 24 April – 22 March ) was a scholar of Pali and Buddhism and educator in Myanmar, formerly to an Anglican family at Pauktaw, Insein Township, Rangoon, he was the fifth child of U Pe and Daw Myaing.
